Worksite Analysis

A worksite analysis includes an examination of the physical demands of a job and is accompanied by an analysis of the client’s medical status and capabilities in relation to the work environment, processes, and equipment. Objective measurements of job duties are taken by a certified kinesiologist (see above) and individualized recommendations are made regarding ergonomics and modifications for a prompt return to work.

A worksite analysis is also an integral step in the development of a comprehensive workplace ergonomics program. Similar to an accident prevention program, it is used to evaluate risks, and prevent and manage work-related musculoskeletal disorders. The main elements of a workplace ergonomics program are worksite analysis, hazard reduction, medical management, and training and education.
