Vocational Assessments

In order to determine appropriate vocational options for an individual, this assessment considers degrees of impairment, functional academic abilities, transferable skills, aptitudes, interests, job search skills, and loss of earnings. A full test battery is administered by a certified psychometrist and a comprehensive report that includes labour market information is provided.

The test battery may include any or all of the following:

  • Standardized academic and aptitude tests such as the Wide Range Achievement Test (WRAT-3) and the General Aptitude Test Battery (GATB)
  • Job specific aptitude tests such as the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test and manual dexterity tests
  • Interest tests may include the Holland Self-Directed Inventory and/or Jackson Vocational Interest Survey; non-verbal and pictorial inventories such as the Wide Range Interest-Opinion Test are available for non-readers
  • Personality tests such as the 16 Personality Factor Questionnaire highlight issues that may affect work performance
