GED Preparation

Ontario High School Equivalency Certificate

Individuals who wish to acquire their Ontario High School Equivalency Certificate are eligible to participate in our GED (General Educational Development) Preparation Program of approximately 10-12 weeks. Before the GED Preparation program, an initial academic assessment is completed to help determine how many weeks of training each applicant would require. All associated study materials are provided.

Program Content:

The program will assist candidates in successfully completing the following tests that make up the GED examination:

  • Workplace Documents

Language Arts, Writing (Part 1)

  • Organization
  • Sentence Structure
  • Mechanics
  • Usage

Language Arts, Writing (Part 2)

  • Essay Component


  • Numbers and Operations – Organization
  • Data, Statistics and Probability
  • Geometry and Measurement
  • Algebra, Functions and Patterns

Social Studies

  • History
  • Civics
  • Economics
  • Geography


  • Life Science
  • Earth and Space Science
  • Physical Science

To be eligible to write the GED examination, the candidate must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have not graduated from high school
  • Have been out of the school system for at least one full year
  • Be a resident of Ontario

The GED Preparation Program is available on a continuous intake basis with program schedules customized to meet each client’s needs.
